The model is built with you, not handed to you. That is deliberate: a founder who helped build the model can defend every number in it, and a founder who was emailed a spreadsheet cannot.

The tailored engagement starts from your actual problem: you describe it, a discovery call scopes it, and the Studio proposes one fixed-scope, fixed-price piece of work built around that need. If the Studio is not the right tool for it, you will be told that on the call, plainly.

The founder

Jaime Mangueira

Founder, Mango Finance Studio

Born in South Africa and raised between Angola and the Emirates, Jaime trained in finance in the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and built his career across Geneva, European banking and Lisbon. That path, four countries of schooling and three of work, is why the Studio works the way it does: numbers first, presented so that people from very different rooms can follow them.

In Geneva he worked as a financial analyst and junior portfolio manager, helping raise CHF 700K in seed debt and managing a portfolio of equities. In European banking he brought more than €20M under custody for over fifty investor clients. In Lisbon he now advises more than ninety international investors, with over €45M placed into Portuguese funds.

The Studio is where that experience is put to work for founders and smaller businesses: the same standard of deck and model that institutional rooms expect, at a scale and price that fit an early raise.

He works in Portuguese, French and English natively, and Spanish fluently, with clients from more than forty-five nationalities. Certified in AML and CTF prevention (IFB).

Refund policy

How deposits, cancellations and refunds work at the Studio, stated plainly before you commit to anything.

How payment works

Fixed fee engagements (pitch decks, financial models and tailored work) start once a 50% deposit has cleared. The balance is due on delivery. Work does not begin before the deposit, and no stage is billed before it is complete.

Cancelling before work begins

If you cancel before work has started, everything you have paid is refunded in full, within 10 working days. No reason needed.

Cancelling after work has started

You pay only for the stage your project has reached:

After kickoff, before the first draft is delivered: 50% of the fee is refunded.
After the first draft, while revisions are still open: 25% of the fee is refunded.
After final delivery: no refund, because the work is complete and yours to keep, including the editable files.

Accuracy guarantee

Every financial model passes an independent second review before delivery. If a delivered model still contains a material calculation error, tell us within 30 days and it is corrected free of charge. If it cannot be corrected, the fee for that deliverable is refunded in full.

What is not refundable

No refunds for a change of mind after final delivery, for subjective preference once your two included revision rounds have been used, or where a project stalls because the inputs we asked for were not provided: after 30 days without inputs the engagement closes and the fees for completed stages stand.

Consulting calls

Cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before the call, as many times as you need within that window. A call that is missed without notice counts as delivered.

If we cancel

If Mango Finance Studio cancels an engagement, or cannot deliver a stage, everything paid for undelivered stages is refunded in full.

How to request a refund

Email us with your project code. We confirm the stage reached and the amount within 5 working days, and refunds go back to the original payment method. Nothing in this policy limits any statutory rights you may have.

Privacy policy

The Studio runs on information clients share in confidence: enquiries, project files, and the numbers behind a business. This page explains what we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who we are

The data controller for this website and for the Studio's work is Jaime Mangueira, trading as Mango Ventures (Mango Finance Studio), Lisbon, Portugal. For anything privacy related, contact us at jaime@mangoventures.eu. We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, because the law does not require one for a practice of this size; that email address is our privacy contact for every question and request about your information.

What we collect, and why

Identity and contact details (your name and email address), so we can reply to your enquiry and stay in touch during an engagement.
Enquiry and project information (what you describe in the enquiry form, and the files, figures and documents you share for the engagement), so we can prepare a proposal and deliver the work.
Billing details (your name, the tax details you give us for the invoice, and payment references), so we can invoice correctly and keep proper accounts.

The legal bases are: performance of a contract, for delivering the engagement you commission; steps taken at your request before a contract, for replying to your enquiry and preparing your proposal; legal obligations, for invoicing and tax records; and our legitimate interests in running the Studio and keeping proper project records. Where anything optional is involved, we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by email.

Who receives your information

Three processors run the website and the inbox: Cloudflare hosts this website, Web3Forms delivers the forms on this site to us, and Zoho runs our email. Beyond that, your information goes nowhere unless you ask us to share work with someone, for example your accountant or your own advisor. Your information is never sold, and never used for third party marketing.

International transfers

Some of those processors may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, the transfer is covered by a European Commission adequacy decision or by the Standard Contractual Clauses, the safeguards European law provides for transfers of this kind.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become engagements are deleted within 12 months. Project information is kept while the engagement runs, and afterwards only for as long as follow up questions, legal limitation periods and record keeping duties reasonably require. Invoices and billing records are kept for 10 years, as Portuguese tax and accounting law requires, and are then deleted.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your information, to have it corrected (rectification), to have it erased, to restrict how it is used, to receive it in a portable format (data portability), and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email jaime@mangoventures.eu. We reply within one month; for complex requests the law allows up to two further months, and if that happens we will tell you within the first month and explain why.

Complaints

If you think we have handled your information badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), Av. D. Carlos I, 134, 1.º, 1200-651 Lisboa, geral@cnpd.pt, www.cnpd.pt, or to the supervisory authority of your own EU country of residence.

Security, and breaches

Client information sits in access controlled accounts, is encrypted in transit, and is seen only by the people working on the engagement. If a personal data breach is likely to put your rights at high risk, we will inform you without undue delay, and where the law requires it we notify the CNPD within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.

Cookies and local storage

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. It stores one functional preference in your own browser's local storage: your light or dark theme choice, so the site opens the way you left it. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings, and the site then goes back to following your device setting. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests those font files from Google when a page opens.

Automated decision making

None. Every enquiry is read by a person, every proposal is written by a person, and no decision about you is made by a computer alone.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.

How does pricing work?

Every engagement has one fixed price, stated in a written proposal before work begins, and the price in the proposal does not change mid-project. Launch pricing applies to the first engagements while it lasts, and the proposal always states the exact figure that applies to you. Nothing is billed by the hour except the consulting calls themselves.

What happens after I send an enquiry?

Six steps, no surprises: your enquiry is received and acknowledged; we hold a short discovery call; you receive a written proposal with the scope, the deliverables, the timeline and one fixed price; the work goes into production; it passes an independent review; and it is delivered. If your project is accepted, the reply to your enquiry includes a personal tracking code.

What is the tracking code?

A personal code that comes with the email accepting your project. Enter it on the Track a project page and you see the stage your project has reached and everything recorded along the way: no account, no password, no login.

What if I want changes, or something turns out to be wrong?

Every engagement includes the revision rounds stated in its written proposal. On top of that, every financial model passes an independent second review before delivery, and if a delivered model still contains a material calculation error, tell us within 30 days: it is corrected free of charge, and if it cannot be corrected, the fee for that deliverable is refunded in full. Is this financial advice?

No. Nothing the Studio produces is regulated financial advice, and nothing on this website is financial advice either. The work gives you analysis, materials and options prepared by an experienced professional. Decisions stay yours, and you should validate them with your own financial or tax advisor before acting.

How do the consulting calls work?

Calls are held on Zoom or Microsoft Teams, in English or Portuguese, and are usually held within a few working days of the enquiry. The call is confirmed by email with the meeting link, and a written summary follows within one working day. You can cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before the call.

What do I receive at the end, and who owns it?

Finished, editable files: a presentation ready deck in a format you can edit, the model itself with its logic intact, and the written summaries from calls. Delivered work is yours to keep and use, including after the engagement ends.
